Ferropolis - The Iron City

Ferropolis is located about 20 km away from the city of Dessau near the pleasant village of Graefenhainichen. It developed from the headquarter of the now flooded coal mine Golpa-North. On the peninsula in the Gremminer lake are still standing five disused bucket wheel excavators and bucket-chain dredgers of up to 130 meters long and 30 meters high. This exciting ensemble will be the scenery for this year's splash! festival! Whether impressive monuments of the industrial history or nature and relaxation on the banks of the Gremminer lake – in Ferropolis every splash! guest gets one’s money’s worth!

There is an optimal transport connection via state roads, highways and rails. The international airport Halle / Leipzig is just 45 minutes away. The closest train station is Dessau. From there shuttle buses go to Ferropolis several times an hour. The Gremminer lake and Ferropolis can be reached via Autobahn A9, exit Dessau Ost, then onto the B 185 to Oranienbaum and then in Oranienbaum turn right onto the B 107 to Gräfenhainichen, after turn left to FERROPOLIS in-between Jüdenberg and Gräfenhainichen.
