But that scenario makes it a less joyful festival. So therefore it is quite reasonable that the best hip-hop festival in the world takes place on the sunny weekend of the 6th to the 8th July. Our 15th Jubilee is going to be another one of those unforgettable Hip Hop parties like last year's splash! The prearrangements also run in winter at full speed- and today to Kool Savas, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller und co we can confirm a few other thrilling acts for the summery demolition in Ferropolis:
Actually, these three men don’t need to be introduced to a Hip Hop fan anymore: Posdnuos, Trugoy and Maseo from Long Island, NY are quite simply living legends in this game which is a result of their positive and colorful interpretations of rap music. According to this they got a huge hit list to present: „Me, Myself & I“, „Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)“, „Stakes Is High“, „Ooh“ and the list goes on… hardly any crew offers so many classics of so varied rap epochs. It is rumored that there’s an upcoming new project and who knows maybe they present some fresh new pieces.
The guys of Kraftklub are written with ‘’K’’ and they don’t want to go to Berlin. Not everybody knows the exact writing yet but at least the second fact is reasonable. After all it is only a stone's throw from their home town Chemnitz to Ferropolis. Since their foundation 3 years ago, they have been playing at Ferropolis every summer. Virtually a home match! …even in the rest of Germany with a number-one album. However, we are glad when Kraftklub play their mixture of Indierock and Rap.Damn sure the cranes will jiggle.
He is probably one of the most exciting newcomers of the actual playing time season. A$AP Rocky from Harlem. Weed, cough mixture, strangly sounding beats and endless swag, that’s how the 23 year old presented himself on his mixtape „LiveLoveA$AP“ which led to a huge hype. Young Rakim Mayer is both: a cool dog, and a great rapper. And… ring any bells?! Yes, his parents have named him after the great Rakim – in wise foresight.
"Soul Is Heavy" – right!!! Who has already experienced Nneka live, knows how much soul the small singer with the big voice performs on the stage. She grew up in Nigeria and moved to Hamburg at the age of 18. Together with Producer Farhot from Hamburg she evolved an emotional as powerful soul music of her own. Especially live on stage it unfolds its whole power–fortunately you will be able to convince yourself of it, in July at Ferropolis.
Supposedly M.I.A. is to blame that the DJ ‘s and producer miracles Diplo and Switch met themselves back in the day. Nice job, lady! Because otherwise it might would have never happened that the two of them canalized their affectation for Dancehall and related dance music in a common project. Definitely they will provide everybody with bass and happy feelings. Splash15!- Demolition guaranteed.
Six years have passed since Kollegah played his legendary first splash!-gig. Back then, as you might know, minor technical misunderstandings messed up his performance. But that was back in the days. Meanwhile Kollegah plays without any ifs and buts in the Premier League. His latest album "Bossaura" scored a sovereign number five in the charts. The live-qualities of his self-made colleague Favorite were never up for debate. However, the rap-harlequin has rocked any stage so far. That’s what they will do together in Ferropolis. Without misunderstandings.
He's definitely one step ahead: Last year the Vienna / Berlin all-rounder showed his talent on stage as Raf Camora at the Samoa Tent - now he is Raf 3.0. What does this mean? A little less rap, more vocals, reggae influences and a renewed futuristic sound that’s just not comparable! In 2011 the young man gave an impressive demonstration how he dominates his job live as well. This year we are looking forward to version 3.0.
In the past his aliasstill contained the last name "Rough" - which is now gone. Because Olson clearly made some progress: Not only his look on the cover of his new EP "40 213" is a little different, he has also changed his music, which has become bolder and more modern and crosses the narrow genre boundaries. He still sticks to his emotional lyrics, - and his very energetic live lectures.
Who is familiar with the crazy wobwob music, probably knows this young man here: The producer Skream has a decisive influence of the global popular genre Dubstep and in this game of imperative bass constructions he remains at the forefront of it- of course, somebody like him must rock a splash!-tent...
P Money is not only a respected and highly capable grime MC: unlike many of his colleagues from the London grime parallel universe he's a welcome guest at the micro in Dubstep circles. This guy understands it, to rap the bass and wobwob party crowd into the ground. Gets verified at splash! 15.
See you soon!
